About Riccardo De Cal
(Asolo - Italy, 1973). Film director, after high school he studied in Venice at the Architecture University. His cinematic vision is essential and poetic: since 2003 realizes creative documentaries and collaborates with Luciano Zaccaria, co-founder of Ipotesi Cinema with Ermanno Olmi and Mario Brenta.Since 2005 collaborates with Benetton Foundation of Treviso, for which attends the video branch of exhibitions and events, and also realize for them creative documentaries. In 2006 he makes his first feature film, that is officially presented at Soane Museum in London with the contribution of Royal Institute of British Architects. From 2008 he works with Regione Veneto and other local entities. Since 2009 collaborates with large private companies (including Estel sps, Leucos International), making short films for national and international exhibitions, such as the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Venice Biennale of Architecture, and the Golden Compass Award.In 2010 he starts working with the National Institute of Performing Arts for various film projects with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Experimental Film Center in Rome. Also in 2010, the film "Raccolto d'inverno" is showed as a special event by the Region of Veneto and Institute of Performing Arts at the Venice Film Festival.All works results in numerous national and international awards, including: Critic's Award Alberto Farassino and Distribution Prize at the Bellaria Film Festival 2005, Prize Asolo International Art Film Festival in 2006 and 2007, winner of "Le Mura d'oro" at the International Art Film Festival in Bergamo in 2006 and 2007, winner of the Architecture and Design section at Libero Bizzarri Festival 2007. In 2007 he is awarded in Rome together with Carlo Lizzani, Silvio Soldini and Vincenzo Vincenzoni at the SAFC Award assigned by the National Institute of Performing Arts.
